Hey everyone, and welcome! I’m Jalee, wife to my wonderful husband, Chris, and mother to our beautiful daughter, Olivia.  Chris and I met in 2004, when I happened to stroll into his place of work at a local music store. I was immediately attracted to this beautiful man! Those gorgeous blue eyes and that adorably charming smile… And to top it off, he was sweet, genuine, and a little shy like me. It didn’t take long to convince myself that he was the one. We were pretty much inseparable after that and exactly two years later, we got hitched! We purchased our first home together in 2010 and started trying for a baby the next spring. Time flies by way too quickly these days, our baby girl just turned 3! She has truly blessed our lives in more ways we could have ever imagined. Being parents has definitely changed our world but I wouldn’t trade it for a second. She’s the best kid, we are so proud of the little person she’s become.

Now, let’s rewind a bit and talk more about why I’ve started Artful Days! When I was growing up, I had quite the range of interests and ideas of what I thought I would be or accomplish one day. What consistently made me the happiest was my passion for arts and interior design. I can think of countless times I’ve rearranged my bedroom and knick knacks just to give my space a little more “oomph” when I got bored of it. Now that we have our own home, I’ve been having so much fun decorating (and redecorating) each room. Maybe a little too much fun… Is painting our walls on 7 separate occasions a little excessive? Eh, I didn’t think so either!

Ever since kindergarten, art was my favorite subject in school. Many of my high school days were spent in the art room during off periods, just because I loved the escape to create something I was proud of. After graduation, I completed an Interior Design course with Sheffield School of Interior Design, now known as New York Institute of Art+Design. I learned so much and I’m so glad I did it. Since then, I’ve found many other crafty ventures to dig my heels into. So with all of this, I thought, “Why not start a blog and share these things with all of you lovelies!” As I’m learning the ropes to blogging, I plan to offer basic sewing tutorials, prints, graphics and party labels, diy projects, and design ideas.

Thank you so much for stopping by! I’m thrilled to start this new journey and I hope you all enjoy what I have to share!
