Master Bathroom Makeover

I recently gave our master bathroom a little makeover and I finally get to share all of the pretty details! It’s amazing how a few changes can totally transform a space. I repainted with a warm gray, changed a few accessories, purchased some new bath towels & rugs, and it’s a completely different room! I’m absolutely digging this new paint color, it’s much more calming and just gave the whole space a fresh new look.

When we purchased our home in May 2010, I was really into the Mediterranean style and went with an old world texture for our bathroom. I really loved the glaze work (courtesy of my dad, one of the best painters Tyler TX has to offer!), but as my style changed, so did my color choices. I’ve been slowly redecorating areas of our home, so I wanted the same feel to flow in our master as well. It was time to say goodbye to those beautifully glazed walls.

Such a huge difference! I get so happy when I walk into our bathroom now, haha. It’s so refreshing, I definitely think this color was the way to go. I chose Repose Gray by Sherwin Williams. It’s a warmer tone so it compliments our cabinets and counter tops really nicely. I swapped the turquoise accents with dark gray, but still kept the beige tones while adding some gold touches in my decor as well.

I found these bath towels and they were perfect for what I had envisioned with my eclectic style. The solid towel set I purchased from Walmart match the other gray almost identically. I was a little unsure if they would or not when I brought them home, but I got lucky – score! Here’s a closer look at some of the decor that I incorporated into our space with a couple of small DIY projects along the way. I love giving a fresh new look to things I already have. I painted the gold stripes on the wooden vase and changed out the faux flowers. Those fancy gold tipped taper candles can be found at Hobby Lobby. Adore those!

I decided to go with white fuzzy mats for a cozy feel. These things really make a difference because it gets very cold in that little corner! I jazzed up our sink areas a bit, mine is on the left and hubby’s is on the right. I also claimed the middle vanity (obviously), but I’m still searching for the perfect stool! That will most likely be a DIY down the line once I decide on the look I want.

One of my favorite additions are these amazing woven roman shades. They were on sale at Home Depot and I could not be more stoked about them! I’ve never hung any treatments on this window before the makeover, and I’m not really sure how we’ve gone so long without them. The sun beams through this window for most of the day and it’s insanely bright. So bright that it actually bleached the decorative towels that I had previously hanging there. These were a must, and I love love love them. The “Float On” print is hand-drawn. I sprayed a fresh coat of gold spray paint on my little turquoise water lily, and now it’s the cutest thing ever.

I snagged this awesome geometric rug at Tuesday Morning to pair with my shag. I love that place, you can find some really amazing finds there. One of my favorite stores to browse. I hope you enjoyed this little tour of our made over master bathroom and hopefully I gave you some ideas for your own projects!
