While it still feels like summer over here in Texas, I’m getting into the Autumn spirit anyway with this quick DIY. One thing I love most about the holidays (besides the food, of course) are the family gatherings and dinner parties. With Crayola Model Magic, I made these adorably tiny pumpkin place card holders. They’re easy peasy and fun for the kiddos as well. I’ve laid a few simple steps to creating your own.
- Crayola Model Magic
- Toothpicks
- X-Acto Knife
1. Mix your Crayola Model Magic (if necessary) to your desired colors. I added a few Halloweeny hues for funsies. Make sure you kneed each color well. Otherwise, it could crack while it dries.
2. Mold each color into tiny pumpkin shapes, starting with the stem.
3. Using an X-Acto Knife, cut a slit at the top of the stem deep enough for a place card to sit firmly inside. (Stick a small piece of cardstock in while it dries to prevent it from sticking or closing.)
4. With a toothpick, roll it down the edge to create the crevasses like a natural pumpkin. You may need to do this process twice to make them deep enough and defined. Allow time to dry for about 24 hours to the touch, and up to 72 hours to dry completely. There you have it! Cutesy little Fall pumpkins to grace your dinner table. Great for any Halloween bash or Thanksgiving setting. The kiddos will love them at the kiddie table too. Click HERE for some free Halloween goodies – confetti, cupcake toppers, and prints. Trust me, you don’t want to miss out on those. Did I mention free?? All of this talk about pumpkins has got me craving everything pumpkin spice. Excuse me while I go make my second cup of coffee infused with too much pumpkin spice creamer! xoxo
