Halloween is getting so close! I can’t believe it’s less than a week away already. This month seriously flew by! I really tried to knock this DIY out much sooner, but my hubby’s birthday was last week and we were out of town celebrating as a family. BUT, better late than never! I’m excited to share this one with you guys. Have you seen the black and white skeleton flamingos? I think they’re so cool, so I decided to add my own twist and make mine rainbow colored. Check it out!
What you’ll need:
- Yard Flamingos
- Spray Paint
- White Acrylic Paint
- Paint Brush(es)
- Clear Spray Sealant
I ordered these adorable retro flamingos from Amazon that you can get here. I chose some poppin’ bright spray paint colors that go with the rest of my Halloween decor. In a ventilated area, spray each one until it’s completely covered. Let dry, and spray a second coat so it’s nice and even. They’re looking awesome already, yeah?
I searched around on Google for a guide on how a flamingo’s skeleton looks and kind of did my own version. Using white acrylic paint, I hand painted the bones. These will require a second coat as well, unless you want a look that’s not as prominent. You could also make the bones look a little “frayed” or cracked if you wanted them more zombified. Not gonna lie, this process was a bit time consuming for each one, but worth it because of how cute they are!
My babies are done! Be sure to coat them with a clear sealant so they can withstand rain and what not. Otherwise, the acrylic paint won’t last.
I love how vibrant they are. This blend of colors give off such a fun Halloween vibe!
I had so much fun arranging them around our yard and showing them off. I’m excited to be able to use them every year. I can’t get over their cuteness!!
Thanks for reading along as always — I hope you all have a very happy and safe Halloween and score some yummy treats!
